Ginger Cookies I Recipe



  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  •  200 gr butter softened
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoon water
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar


    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Sift together flour, ginger, baking soda and baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Set aside.

    2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, stir in water and molasses. Gradually stir dry ingredients into the molasses mixture. Shape dough into walnut sized balls, and spread the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar. You can also use a cookie cutter for fun and beautiful shapes.

    3. Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 40 minutes before removing and enjoy!
